What is publichouse.sg?
Singapore is our home. It is a small place but one which we believe has a big heart. Over the last 10 years, especially, Singapore has gone through substantial changes - not just in its physical attributes but also in the way we live, work, play and think. We have come a long way since the founding of our nation in 1965.
Singapore is where we share our dreams and turn them into reality; it is also where we share our sad moments and our joyous ones. As in life everywhere, we encounter the highs and we traverse the lows.
Here at publichouse.sg, we hope to capture these moments and stories of life in the Little Red Dot and in the process present the vibrancy and diversity of Singapore and the creativity and talent of our fellow Singaporeans. It is our hope that all of us will be inspired - and empowered - to then step forth and, as it were, lay down stakes and shape the future which we and our children will share.
We hope to foster interaction and the cross-fertilisation of ideas so that we can all partake of this ecosystem which is the Singaporean life.
We will tell stories of victories and of struggles, of those who lead us and those who languish behind; of people and places, of memories and dreams. We hope to reach out to anyone and everyone who believe in this home of ours which, despite its faults, is worth embracing.
In short, publichouse.sg hopes to be a reflection of the many facets of the society which we are all a part of.
Publichouse.sg is about people - and the things which we Singaporeans are doing around our community and for our community.
We have just started this journey and publichouse.sg will evolve as we go along. But one thing's for sure: we will endeavour to tell stories from distinctly different angles and viewpoints.
It will take much time and effort before we achieve what we set out to do but the goal of telling stories and reflecting our society is a passion which we have committed ourselves to.
